[iDC] creative collectives and non-rational elements?

While questions regarding skills, access to resources, knowledge, and
cultural spaces are undoubtedly essential in terms of developing a
creative collective production process in a coalition or network, the
collective's non-rational elements are also reflected in the production
process.

Many collective efforts fail when the non-rational elements of the people
involved don't mesh. For collective efforts to succeed, long or short
term, it appears that certain levels of personal intimacy, trust,
conviviality, mutual satisfaction and pleasure must be consciously
accounted for and developed.
It appears that most successful creative collectives are able to work with
similarities and across differences, where solidarity is based on
political/aesthetic perceptions and common goals but where technical
skills are unique to members, thus eliminating a source for friction.

some other questions to consider further down the line: what about
collective construction? How do the collectives function internally? How
are tasks and ideas shared? How are decisions made?
