Hi Lilly,
You might look at some of the stuff on TacticalTech.org, in
particularly the nifty handbook they've created:

I'd also take a look at Rita Raley's book on Tactical Media (I imagine
you've already picked her brain). But if you haven't read her book...
it is a fine accomplishment and well worth the time.
Again, if you haven't already, take a look at some of the stuff on Lev

You also do well to look at some of the work that Jeremy Douglass is
doing (in this case, with Manovich):
