[iDC] Books/texts on democracy

I read Macpherson's 'The Life and Times of Liberal Democracy' a number 
of years ago and thought it was quite good.

Also (this reminds me), Pierre Trudeau's 'Approaches to Politics', 
essays from his years with Vrai, was influential in my thinking.
